Rationale:
SEZ! This word has become a catch word
in Indian industry and among exporters from India.
All large industrial houses & small exporters
are keen to register their presence in SEZ. While
some are interested in development of SEZ, the majority
are interested in setting up of their unit either
for manufacturing or for trading in SEZ.
The passing of SEZ Act, 2005 & corresponding
rules in 2006 has further complicated the matter
instead of simplifying as was expected by trade
& industry. The focus has obviously shifted
from Foreign Trade Policy to the enactment. The
problem has been further compounded due to lack
of clarity on the subject by implementing agencies.
Thus, the genuine investor finds it difficult to
crystallize his decision about setting up of unit
under SEZ.
Objective: This one day seminar aims at
acquainting participants with basic nuances involved
in setting up of a unit & running the same as
SEZ unit.
